History NCC Directorate Uttarakhand

NCC Dte Uttarakhand was raised at Dehradun by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri N D Tiwari on 08 Aug 06, by upgrading later existing Gp HQ. It is the 17th NCC Directorate in the country and the only one to be raised since 1948. The Gp HQ at Dehradun was later re-raised in 2010.

NCC Directorate, Uttarakhand is responsible to organize, control and monitor NCC activities in all the 13 Districts of Uttarakhand. The spread of NCC in the State covers approx 620 schools/colleges which are covered by 03 Gp HQs and 19 units as under:-

• NCC Gp HQ, Roorkee (05 Units, 01 Indep Coy, & 02 Sqn).
• NCC Gp HQ, Nainital (05 Units and 01 Indep Coy).
• NCC Gp HQ Dehradun (05 Units)
